Layers

Steel and lacquer

Layers is a series of unique and colourful bowls, originally designed for the curated exhibition ‘A tribute to everyday life‘ by danishdesignMAKERS. It’s an interpretation of the hidden stories of everyday objects. A collection based on the colours of industrial manufacturing beyond my control.

Every time products are coated with a colour within a lacquering factory, there’s a bit of lacquer left in the spray gun. This leftover lacquer is sprayed onto spun metal spheres, and colour is build up in many layers over time.

The bowls are sandblasted and sanded to reveal the colourful layers.
