Rough Monoliths is a collection of one-of-a-kind powder-coated aluminum vessels, beginning with an exploration of expanded polystyrene (EPS) and its distinctive bead structure. By solely using my hands as ‘tools’ in the making process, I have removed material from blocks of styrofoam, preserving its unique character.

Each piece is meticulously hand-shaped, maintaining the tactile surface and unique character of the material. Embracing a hands-on approach, the vessels undergo classic investment casting in a Danish foundry before being coated in a captivating deep blue high gloss to capture and reflect light in the characteristic surfaces.
