Troels Flensted is a Danish design studio founded in 2015 with the desire to challenge materials and production processes.
By exploring characteristics and expressions of materials we create products which tell new and meaningful stories. We’re fascinated by materials, colours and how things are made, and finds inspiration in the aesthetic and undiscovered possibilities deriving from combining the three. Our work is purposely minimalistic in its shape, allowing the materials’ own characteristics to shine.
Troels Flensted has been nominated and won several Young Talent awards across Europe including the ‘Talent á la Carte Award’ by Maison&Objet in Paris and the Award ‘Talent of the Year 2017’ at Design Awards in Denmark. Recently the studio received a Bronze Award by ‘A’ Design Award’ for the Poured Collection and has been invited as a permanent member of the Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition.
Troels Flensted’s work has been exhibited at some of the most respected design fairs across Europe, including; 100% design, designjunction, London Design Fair, northmodern, Eindhoven Design Week, Stockholm Design Week, Maison&Objet Paris & Milan Design Week.
The studio was founded by Troels Flensted (born 1987) who graduated from Central Saint Martins in London in 2014. In January 2015, he moved back to his native Copenhagen with a passion to create objects which challenges materials and how they are made. The studio currently employs one person besides the founder and work with talented interns and external experts from all over the world.
